Biography
Professor Dr. Muhammad Sarwar Dean Faculty of Education International Islamic University, Islamabad is a distinguished and well-known educationist who is known for his hard work, and incessant and arduous struggle. These qualities did not let him stay rested in one place and he joined the University of Sargodha as Lecturer until he ranked up to Professor at the Department of Education. Dr. Sarwar not only worked as coordinator and chairman of the department but also showed his wonderful performance as Director of ORIC and Director of QEC, Chairman of the Purchase Committee, Chairman of the Hardship committee and Chairman Semester implementation committee. He has been blessed with a soul who remains thirsty for services; hence, this quality led him to render his valuable services by working with HEC, the Government of the Punjab, SDPI, TEVTA, USAID, and the World Bank. Besides, his travel to England for his post-doctorate at the University of Worcester provided him an opportunity to think globally and act locally. Owing to this ideological revolutionary development, he infused a working spirit among his colleagues and juniors.
In addition to this, their love for research and innovations set Prof. Dr. Sarwar apart from his contemporary educationists and he has long-standing academic experience of three decades. Therefore, he has been honoured to be an ardent member of more than twenty-four national and international professional bodies. He is not only a seasoned curriculum writer and a leading trainer but has also been invited as the resource person at various workshops and national as well as international conferences. To his credit, there are more than eighty research papers both in national and international peer-reviewed journals of good repute. He has also supervised more than eighty MPhil/PhD theses along with the evaluation of more than a hundred MPhil/PhD theses.
Before joining International Islamic University, he has been working as the Dean of Arts and Humanities at Superior University Lahore. His key strengths include curriculum writing, assessment for quality enhancement, data-driven decision making for problem-solving, statistical reasoning ability, gap analysis & improvement strategies, and teaching effectiveness & competence development. His arrival finally as the Dean of the Faculty of Education at IIUI is acclaimed as opening a new horizon of knowledge among the academic circle as he said, “International Islamic University is blessed with hardworking and competent faculty members who have all the abilities to take this university to the heights of learning, research and innovations”.
